Purpose of double-sided grinding and thinning of valve plates
1. Precise thickness control:
Compressors are developing towards higher efficiency and lighter weight, and valve plates need to be thinned as much as possible while ensuring strength (common target thickness 0.8~1.5mm) to reduce reciprocating mass, improve response speed and energy efficiency. Double-sided grinding can precisely control the final thickness tolerance (up to ±0.005mm or even higher), ensuring batch consistency.

2. Ensuring ultra-high flatness and parallelism:
The valve plate is the sealing base of the gas valve (suction/exhaust valve plate), and its flatness (usually ≤0.001~0.003mm) directly affects the airtightness. Micrometer-level flatness deviation will cause refrigerant leakage and reduce compression efficiency.
Double-sided grinding simultaneously processes two planes in one clamping, eliminating the cumulative error of single-sided processing, achieving sub-micrometer parallelism, and ensuring tight valve plate fitting.

3. Optimizing surface quality:
Provides a uniform, scratch-free, low-roughness (Ra 0.1~0.4μm) sealing surface, reducing valve plate wear and opening/closing resistance.
Removes micro-deformations, oxide layers, or burrs produced by previous processes (such as stamping, heat treatment).
